The contemporary dance company 420PEOPLE is returning to Lipnice Castle for a full week during the summer holiday. In July, they will host the 420PEOPLE Summer Dance Intensive, a six-day program welcoming dance enthusiasts, amateurs, and professionals alike. The sessions will be led by dancers Filip Staněk and Veronika Tököly from 420PEOPLE, along with the ensemble's artistic director and choreographer, Václav Kuneš. The event will also include a special improvised performance for all workshop participants and the public, called the Open Impro Jam Session.
Following the 420PEOPLE Summer Dance Intensive, the fourth year of the Dancing Lipnice festival will take place. The festival will feature the latest piece, Smoke and Mirrors by Václav Kuneš, which blends solo performances by Italian dancer Francesca Amy Amante and flamenco guitarist Filip Zubák. Like last year, a movement workshop with Václav Kuneš and additional programs will be available for the audience. It will also showcase Pulps, the choreography by Simona Machovičová, the dance duet features dancers (Simona Machovičová & Matyáš Ramba) performing to live music by Václav Havelka.

The Taneční/Dancing Lipnice festival hosts a special evening for all workshop participants and the public, called the Open Impro Jam Session, featuring live music! During its first part, dancers from 420PEOPLE Summer Dance Intensive will share the stage with musicians guitarist Filip Zubák and pianist Jakub Tököly for the first time, creating a distinctive improvised performance. How will they navigate the shared space? How will they inspire and influence each other? During the second part of the evening, the audience is encouraged to engage in improvisation, actively participating in dance and music to become part of the event. Lipnice Castle's chambers will become a stage featuring contemporary dance, spontaneity, energy, and one-of-a-kind encounters that won't be repeated.

The solo performance by dancer Francesca ‘Amy’ Amante and the solo concert by flamenco guitarist Filip Zubák. They dance and sing, disappearing and reappearing among levitating glass objects. The set design was inspired by the work of artist Vladimíra Klumparová, thanks to whom glass became an integral part of the creative process. It remained solid and fragile at the same time, impressive, beautiful, seemingly abstract, until a combination of circumstances gave it meaning, a story. Just like the illusion created by the combination of smoke and mirrors, this story may also be just an impression. New choreography by Václav Kuneš will come to the Lipnice Castle.

The movement workshop for the general public, led by choreographer Václav Kuneš, is based on movement material from the performance 420PEOPLE. The concept of the movement workshop is dedicated to understanding the body as the most perfect technology that humans possess. It will focus on the possibilities of connecting creativity, basic body movement, and contemporary dance. The workshop is open to anyone interested, regardless of their dance experience.
